Meme’s Westley - Colon Cancer Awareness | The Unhealed. Siblings; Series

Episode One.
Meme’s Westley - Colon Cancer Awareness | Unhealed. Siblings; Series

This is where the series begins.

Unhealed. Siblings; is a space for surviving siblings to speak on the brothers and sisters they’ve lost. The grief, the memories, the questions, and everything that comes after. There’s no right way to carry this. Some days we cry… most days we laugh. Because sometimes laughter is the only way through.

In this first episode, Meme (my friend of over 22 years) shares the story of losing her middle brother, Westley. Something we unfortunately have in common: we both know what it means to lose a sibling. Meme has lost three brothers. Westley’s story is the first, with more to come.

Westley was just 34 when he passed from colon cancer, a disease that had been present long before it was discovered. He was quiet, had special needs, and was deeply loved by his family. What followed was a fast, heartbreaking journey of diagnosis, difficult decisions, and navigating what it means to prioritize comfort, dignity, and quality of life in the face of the unimaginable.

This episode isn’t just about how Meme lost Westley.
It’s about awareness.
It’s about how quickly things can change.
And it’s about the reality families face when advocating for someone they love.

Westley’s story is raw, honest, and deeply human, a reminder to ask questions, to pay attention, and to hold onto the time we have.

And yes, you may hear kids in the background. That’s real life here. Late nights, cousins together, families still living… even while carrying loss.

Hey y’all, Jenn Kelly here!

Storyteller, mom, survivor, and the drive behind Unfiltered. Unhealed.

I talk about the things people live through but don’t say out loud: addiction, grief, mental health, toxic relationships, and trying to heal while raising kids to have it better. It’s not polished. It’s real.

After a lifetime of survival, I started piecing my story back together. Through memory, through others, through truth.

What began as reflection has grown into a book series and a podcast.

Because healing starts the moment we tell the truth. 🎙️
